How can Mesa defend itself against accusations that it is ramming this through when it schedules a hearing the week before Christmas? What a joke! If they really gave a damn they would have held it in November, when people had the time, and the inclination, to fight it.
As near as I can tell, they sent their rate notice to Costa Mesa property owners, not voters. My neighbors, who are renters, did not receive the notice. None of the businesses I talked to had heard of it.
The Directors and staff at Mesa should be ashamed of themselves. Things would be different if Hank Panian were still on their board.
